Jaden came with his farmer equipment yesterday for a fun photo session. He's a spunky, fun little person who made my play job of photographer actual play.

It was the first time for me to use the completely installed and tested hi-glide system. It worked flawlessly! I see photography as painting with light and having the lights so easily accessible and customizable makes that painless. Of course, having such a cute child to photograph never hurts either.

Jim and Kim have horses, dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, frogs, etc. at their farm. Georgia got to adopt two rabbits for a day and we used them in her photo session. We persuaded her to leave them at the studio when she had to leave by reminding her that she can go get them next time. Thanks Kim!

Last evening my studio was the setting for a mini reunion of people from my childhood. Hope Beach, her daughter Debbie and son-in-law Tim, along with Elaine Freeman and Mom hung out with me for a few minutes. You never know when the next meeting will be and must be mindful of the fragility of life, so I made sure they sat in the 'hot seat area' and grabbed these photos:

Photographing families is one of my favorite types of photography. The Dent Family has been an extended part of my family for years. I appreciate their spending Saturday afternoon in my studio.

Alisha is fifteen weeks pregnant. We will document the changes her body goes through, with the goal of at least one maternity photo session each month until birth. How exciting!

Eugene and Kelly are a beautiful couple. She is one of the fantastic teachers I work with; he is one of the fantastic teachers from my children's gradeschool experience. Last evening they trusted me to capture these images for their wedding announcement:

Saturday the Mazons were in the studio for pre-wedding photos. It was the first time shooting a group in the newly finished space. Adron and I worked late Friday night to get the trim installed and stained. It made the photo session go sooo much more smoothly to not have to worry about backdrops, ugly edges, etc.

Ben, Kelli, Hannah, Logan and Luke were home for the weekend, so I grabbed a few minutes of their time to get a few photographs. We had hoped to get all three children in one shot, but Logan was tired, arrived asleep, and was in no mood for my strobes blasting him in the face. While Ben reasoned with him just beyond the shot, I got this image.

Later, we noticed that Luke was enjoying his time in my Papasan chair. So we turned the strobes off, moved a continuous light into place, upped the ISO on the camera, mounted it on a tripod, and salvaged the following photograph from the session. It isn't perfect! I don't like the way the shadows fall beside their faces, but I love the angelic expressions on their faces. Luke is doing what three month-olds do: his hands obscure his cute little mouth, but we got some great images of him solo later.
