Summer is winding down.

Previously, that has meant I would be gearing up for Back to School. It was always a bittersweet time: I loved teaching; I loved not teaching. A conundrum. An enigma.

As former colleagues and dear teacher friends are going back into their classrooms, I'm remembering why I became a teacher... And why I left teaching. There's a book here, but I'll give you the condensed (REALLY condensed) version.

    I taught

  • to give back
  • to make a difference
  • to mitigate my empty nest
    • I left teaching

  • because burnout was looming
    • Who wants a burned out teacher?
    • Who wants to BE a burned out teacher?
  • to pursue photography full time
  • my nest got complicated...REALLY complicated

Jessie Morrison, Chauncey, WV - "Thank you so much for doing my pictures. I could not be happier with the way they turned out."

Jimmie Mazon, Chapmanville, WV - "I'm grateful to have what I consider my own personal photographer. I have an extremely large family who are spread out, all I have to do it call pbh Art, Inc. and Peggie works her schedule to fit ours, and I have called often. Within the last four years I have used her services for a wedding, 75th birthday party, Easter pictures, Christmas cards and yearly family portraits. In our last portrait we had 15 family members including 7 small children. The pictures were breathtaking. Peggie is experienced, patient and so easy to work with, and the best part are the pictures, they are always beautiful!"
