Photograph of Little Girl in a Fairy Costume, by Peggie B. Hensley, Portrait Photographer, pbh Art, Inc. Photography, Chapmanville, WV
Wednesday was a special day in the studio! A former student and his wife brought their two little princesses and their cousin for a photo session. It was the most pleasant child session to date! Maddie is the consummate model. She brought great clothes to wear, loved changing into them, and took directions flawlessly! And as you can see, she is the definition of photogenic.

That would have been enough to make the session perfect, but then we put the two babies into the mix. Let me just say that the whole photogenic, easy to work with, let's have some fun modeling continued. And that made my editing work MUCH more hard.

You see, the first thing I do after a photo session is to upload the images to my computer and then delete all images that I don't like... I am brutal at this point, because nobody really wants to have to choose from a bunch of images. And they REALLY don't want to see images that are sub par. But almost ALL of last evening's images were good. What to do, what to do? Will the parent's want to see all 67 images? Do I really want to show them all 67 keepers? Like I said: harder.

Last evening I was blessed with a visit to the studio by my Great Aunt Alice and her two sisters, Marian Andersen and Ann Hart. Alice and Marian came to West Virginia long before I was born, and with Fred and Vera Staples, founded Striker Bible Church. After a few years, Marian went to Peru as a missionary nurse, but Alice stayed in Logan County. She taught in one room schools, on the Crawley Road and on the West Fork of Harts Creek. My older siblings, Gary and Sharon got to experience the one-room school with Miss. Alice, but sadly when my turn came, one room schools were closed. Alice was transferred to a new school, not the one I attended. Later, she was principal at Lake Elementary.

Alice is a one-of-a-kind friend. I owe her more than could ever be paid. Being permitted to photograph these precious women of God has been a highlight of my year! By the way, the baby in the group is two years younger than my mother.

I have an extremely large family who are spread out, all I have to do it call pbh Art, Inc. and Peggie works her schedule to fit ours, and I have called often. Within the last four years I have used her services for a wedding, 75th birthday party, Easter pictures, Christmas cards and yearly family portraits. In our last portrait we had 15 family members including 7 small children. The pictures were breathtaking. Peggie is experienced, patient and so easy to work with, and the best part are the pictures, they are always beautiful!"
